Dr. Boesch & Dr. Shah really enjoy taking care of the little ones and setting them on a path to healthy teeth for a lifetime. Plus, did I mention that Dr. Shah practiced Pediatric Dentistry in India before going to dental school for a second time in the US?
We believe in taking care of our patients, which means more than just cleaning and x-rays. Every child is evaluated/performed for at every exam:
- Cavities
- Caries risk
- Risk for Sleep Disorder Breathing
- General health/growth
- Oral cancer screening
- Extraoral soft tissues
- Temporomandibular joints
- Intraoral soft tissues
- Oral hygiene and periodontal health
- Intraoral hard tissues
- Developing occlusion/if early intervention is needed
- Oral hygiene instructions given
- Prophylaxis
- Fluoride Varnish
- X-rays (depending on need)
- Diet and Hygiene risk factors
- Fun and smiles
The American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry both recommend that a child see a pediatric dentist within six months of the first tooth appearing, and no later than their first birthday. This should be the beginning of a positive relationship that will last through adolescence, between the dentist, the child and the parent. It also allows the dentist to monitor growth and development as the child grows, and catch any problems while they are still small and easy to treat. We gladly accept patients from infancy through adolescence.
Healthy Start
A dental solution to a medical problem that is all too often neglected and irreversible at older ages.
Does your child snore?
Snoring is just one symptom of Sleep Disordered Breathing. All too often Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) is ignored until a patient is in their 40s and is then told the only solution is to wear a bulky apparatus called a C-PAP to sleep. We can help your child now before there is irreversible damage!
“If you are a parent like me, you will do anything to give your child the best start in life. Having studied and treated orthodontic (braces) cases over the years, I knew that my 2 year old would need orthodontic intervention. His lower jaw was back further than the upper and his baby teeth came in close together. I knew that putting a palatal expander on him now, at age 2, would help, but it wouldn’t fix his jaw relationship. So, I went searching for answers and that’s when I discovered Healthy Start. I wouldn’t recommend anything to you that I wouldn’t to my own family. Healthy Start is life changing!!! Literally, life changing!”
